Hat/Gedney island used to be the southern most tip of Camano Island to its immediate North. Makes one wonder HOW that missing area was << yeeted >> outtve existence? (Please dont refer to 'Glaciation'..;)..See Bathymetric contour maps of the sea-floor for more on that^.... -We've an area here on Whidbey/Orion* Island that appears to have been heavily pummeled @ some ancient point in time.... The damage pattern running in a direct West >East orientation & only within a rather small lateral band, a band that continues out a bit into the Westward lying Puget Sound/Straight of Juan De fuca. Southwards advancing/Northbound retreating glaciers dont really fit within that damage pattern either. But Im no geologist. For some reason the U.S Military took serious interest within that very area even before the Civil War broke out in the 1860's. Just REALLY strange.... I say 'Orion Island' as us Whid-Billies refer to it @ times due to the shape of the body of water found within/between Whidbeys Eastern shoreline/Water to land terminus area, & nearby Camano Islands Western shore to water boundary area. The body's legs pointing Southwards, head to the North^.... Appears to look like the constellation of Orion to many, although IMO favoring an archer drawing back a bow VS holding up a club & shield....;)
